• 市議會將在明天上午10:00召開線上會議。市長期望市議會能夠每數周舉行一次電話會議。
• 市議會將延長緊急狀態的有效期。
• 市長將推出「模塊房屋計劃」,該計劃將在今年秋天建造110個支援性住房,並在明年前增至250個單位。
• 市政府工作人員從今天開始協助露宿者搬至臨時房屋入住。

Families Coping with COVID-19 – Teleconference with Educators
I will be hosting a teleconference to help Ward 22’s schoolchildren and parents cope with staying at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. I will be joined by our trustees, educators and psychologists who will offer advice on home learning and maintaining mental and physical well-being. City of Toronto
·City Council will convene tomorrow at 10:00 AM virtually. Mayor Tory expects Council to convene every few weeks via teleconference.
o Council will be expected to extend the state of emergency in the City of Toronto.
o Mayor Tory will introduce a modular housing initiative that will see the creation of 110 supportive housing units for this fall and a total of 250 by next year.
o Starting today, City staff is helping people living in encampments to move into interim housing.
o High Park will be closed for the annual cherry blossom event. Residents may watch a livestream of the cherry tree grove and videos featuring virtual walk-throughs of the cherry tree blossoming. o The Jesse Ketchum Child Care Centre will be closed for the next 2 weeks due to an outbreak of COVID-19.
Government of Ontario
·The Provincial Government is further expanding the list of essential workers eligible to receive free emergency child care during the COVID-19 outbreak. The additional frontline workers who can now access emergency childcare services include:
o Workers in grocery stores and pharmacies;
o Truck drivers (driver's licence Class A and Class D);
o Workers in the food supply chain, including food processing;
o Workers in retirement homes;
o Auxiliary workers in health care settings, including cooks and cleaning staff in hospitals and long-term care homes;
o Interpreters and interveners who support people who are deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and deafblind;
o Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) emergency personnel;
o Provincial officers and onsite staff in Ontario courts;
o Canadian Armed Forces and Department of National Defence staff working in Ontario; and,
o Additional workers supporting public safety and correctional services.

Government of Canada
·The Federal Government will be boosting the Child Care Benefit in May.
·Those who owe income tax have until August to make their payment.
·The House of Commons will meet in person tomorrow, April 29th.
·The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will be embarking on a cross-Canada tour starting in Nova Scotia this weekend and working west throughout next week. The Snowbirds will be flying over Canada to salute frontline workers who are working to stop the spread of COVID-19.
