Liz Parry鄧詠冬收張旭為入室弟子
2021年6月19日，張旭Xu Zhang (George)自豪地成為了Liz Parry的入室弟子，鄧華的徒孫，梅逸的第三代傳人以及葉問宗師的第四代傳人，鄧華師公特為張旭起了個名字為鄧威龍。
Liz Parry教授詠春拳在選擇學生時非常挑剔，只會以小班教授，在這種情況下，她能夠更多地關注每個人，張旭表示很幸運能將自己成為她的弟子，而Liz Parry師傅的幾個學生亦曾贏得了國家和國際錦標賽。
Liz Parry師傅研習詠春的旅程並不輕鬆，儘管個人困難，她還是贏得了許多獎項和聲譽，使她在男性主導的領域脫穎而出。2001年，她在加拿大武術功夫挑戰賽中獲得詠春拳的總冠軍。次年，她有幸被選中在中國佛山葉問堂的開幕儀式上作個人表演。
Liz Parry師傅在加拿大詠春功夫節上獲得金牌。兩年後，她在第五屆世界傳統武術錦標賽上獲得銀牌。 Liz Parry師傅目前持有加拿大武術團體聯合總會授予的段位七段。2018年，她被選為中國第一屆世界詠春公開賽的評委，作為一名資深教練，她是武術委員會的成員，並且是《詠春畫報》雜誌的專訪人物，其中包括一系列她練習詠春拳的照片。
當Liz Parry師傅不教授功夫時，她會在另一個領域挑戰自己，那就是加拿大郵政的勞資關係。作為加拿大郵政工人聯盟(CUPW) 的當選首席成員，Liz Parry負責大多倫多地區1200 多間郵政服務成員的福祉和公平待遇。她現在已經連續第三個任期，這足以證實了她所作的努力是值得信賴的勞工活動家。
天賦是研習詠春拳的先要條件，但對於張旭而言，追求學習詠春拳的意願紿終如一並從未間斷，在Liz Parry師傅的訓練下，沒有捷徑可走，當Liz Parry師傅教詠春拳時，她會時刻牢記你的特性。她會讓你發揮個人所長，同時提高對需要改進領域的認識。
事實上，早在拜師之前，Liz Parry師傅就已經對學習詠春拳的門生孜孜教誨，以及在加拿大武聯中建立好橋樑，能夠參與國家及國際級的考試與比賽，張旭感謝Liz Parry師傅為弟子們所做的一切努力。雖然有些人可能不知道Liz Parry師傅是否對每一位學生都是傾囊相授，但在我心中她確實是最好的。同時，除了詠春拳之外，她還教導我們的武德，那是學習武術者必須謹記的事情。
On June 19, 2021, I, Xu Zhang(George), proudly became Sifu Liz Parry's disciple (todai) and the grand disciple of Sigung Sunny Tang. Sifu Parry is highly selective in choosing her students, opting to instruct a smaller class. In this context, she is able to devote more attention to each individual and I am fortunate to count myself among them. Several of her students have competed in and won national and international championships.
Sifu's journey has not been an easy one. Despite personal hardships, she has earned many awards and a reputation that distinguishes her in a male dominated field. In 2001, she was Grand Champion in Ving Tsun at the Canadian Wushu Kung Fu Challenge. The following year, she was honoured to be chosen to do a solo form at the opening ceremonies of the Ip Man Tong in Foshan, China. Sifu won the Gold Medal at the Canada Wing Chun Kung Fu Festival. Two years later, she claimed a Silver Medal at the 5th World Traditional Wushu Championships. Sifu Parry currently holds a Duan Wei Level Seven (Master's Degree) conferred by Wushu Canada. She was selected to be a judge at the first World Wing Chun Open Competition, in China, in 2018. As a Senior Master (Women), she sits on the Wushu Committee and was the subject of a feature in the magazine Wing Chun Illustrated, which included a series of dynamic photographs of her practicing her art.
When Sifu is not teaching Kung Fu she challenges herself in another arena, that is labor-management relations at Canada Post. As an elected Chief Shop Steward of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), Sifu is responsible for the well-being and fair treatment of more than twelve hundred members in the Greater Toronto Area. Her reputation as a labor activist to be trusted is confirmed by the fact she is now serving a third consecutive term.
With obvious talent one can become a good fighter very quickly, but for me, it is the journey that I seek. With Sifu Parry's training, there are no shortcuts. When she teaches Wing Chun, she will always keep your nature in mind. She develops you as a person, bringing out your best qualities while raising awareness of areas for improvement. In truth, Sifu has deeply invested in our relationship long before this day. I appreciate what she does for me in every aspect of our association. Although some may not realize how much Sifu Parry gives to a student, in my heart she is truly the best. Yet there is another level of education she imparts, beyond the emotional, which is intelligence training, perhaps the highest level of all.
