Free Burlap Drive-thru Pickup Event
The City is giving away free burlap kits to help Richmond Hill residents protect their trees from spongy moth. You can pick one up at the drive-thru pickup event on June 2 between 5 and 7 p.m. Simply drive up to the front door of the Richmond Hill Operations Centre(1200 Elgin Mills road East) and staff will hand you a kit through the car window.
No registration required for this event, but you will be asked to show proof of residency.
Free burlap kits are also available for pickup in the reception area during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Each kit includes one (1) piece of burlap that can be cut to fit up to three (3) medium sized trees, twine and a how-to guide. One kit per Richmond Hill household, while quantities last.

Richmond Hill Celebrates Seniors Month this June
In recognition and celebration of our growing Adult 55+ population in Richmond Hill, the City is excited to host a number of in-person events throughout Seniors Month in June.
This year’s celebrations kick off with a free barbecue for the Adults 55+ community, featuring live entertainment by the Pepper Shakers. At the event, the City will also recognize the Senior of the Year Award recipient. Registration is not required.
Date: Friday, June 3
Time: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Location: Mill Pond Park, 321 Mill St., Richmond Hill (Map)
(In case of inclement weather, the barbecue will be held at the McConaghy Centre.)
Residents aged 55+ are invited to register for other events happening this June, including an Ice Cream Social (June 15); Bridge workshops (June 8 and 15); Experience Drums Alive (June 22); Solving Mind-Bending Games (June 22) and more!
