Tim Hortons Markham, Ballantrae, and Stouffville raise record-breaking batch — $125K from 2026 Smile Cookie Campaign for Markham Stouffville Hospital

MARKHAM, ON (May 14, 2026) Today, Tim Hortons restaurant owners of Markham, Ballantrae, and Stouffville proudly announced raising an incredible $125,607.90 through this year’s Smile Cookie campaign — all in support of Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH).

"Tims restaurant owners are proud members of the communities where they live and work, and for decades their passion for giving back has made the Smile Cookie campaign what it is today," says Axel Schwan, president of Tim Hortons. "When the first Smile Cookie was sold in 1996, no one could have imagined we'd one day be celebrating more than $174 million raised in the program's history. That's a testament to Tims restaurant owners, team members, volunteers, and guests who have committed to making a difference in their communities year after year. Thank you for your incredible generosity."

From April 27 to May 3, customers purchased Smile Cookies ($2 plus tax) and Smile Cookie products, with 100 per cent of the proceeds benefiting local charities across Canada. Since launching in 1996, the Smile Cookie campaign has raised more than $130 million for local charities, supporting the communities the restaurants serve.

Proceeds from participating restaurants in Markham, Ballantrae, and Stouffville benefit families and children, cared for at MSH. Since 2007, the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign has raised more than $1.7 million in support of MSH Foundation.

MSH is committed to delivering high-quality, integrated patient care to one of the country’s fastest growing and most culturally diverse regions. Government funding alone cannot keep pace with the hospital’s priority needs, or the rapidly evolving health care landscape. MSH relies on dynamic partnerships — such as its long‑standing collaboration with Tim Hortons — to adopt new technology, improve access, and streamline services. Generous donor support also helps MSH purchase leading-edge equipment and enhance its campus, enabling safe and timely care for the communities Oak Valley Health is honoured to serve.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Tim Hortons restaurant owners, team members, and every customer who purchased a Smile Cookie to support Markham Stouffville Hospital,” says Allan Bell, Vice President, Community Relations & Corporate Partnerships, MSH Foundation. “This long-standing partnership continues to make a meaningful impact, helping ensure families and children in our community have access to extraordinary care when they need it most.”
