安省自由黨領袖鄧德華關於新冠病毒疫情的聲明

多倫多–安省自由黨領袖鄧德華（Steven Del Duca）發表如下聲明：

今天，安省政府宣布了一項立法，要保護工作人士不會因爲COVID-19而失業。我認為這是應該採取的正確行動，但我還是繼續敦促省府向工作人士提供帶薪病假。

今天省府的公告還取消了在此危機期間的醫生病假條要求，這令我感到欣慰。這是非常需要的步驟，我很高興省府對此採取了行動。

值此危機時期，我們必須照料安大略最弱勢的孩子們。許多學生依賴學校的早餐和午餐計劃，我希望將來的省府公告將宣布對這些學生的支持。我將在與執政黨成員的會議中繼續提出這一點。

在下一次機會中，我將鼓勵省政府繼續做所需的工作，支持我們的經濟，特別是幫助中小型企業，尤其是那些利潤微薄的工商業。

安大略應該對我們自己的醫護人員及其家人表示深深的感謝。我希望省府在此危機繼續之時能夠竭盡所能支持我們的醫護人員。

TORONTO – Steven Del Duca, Ontario Liberal Party Leader, made the following statement:

Today, the government announced legislation that will protect workers from losing their job due to COVID-19. I think this is the right action to take though I continue to urge the government to provide paid sick leave to workers.

I am encouraged that today’s announcement eliminates sick notes during this crisis. This is a much-needed step and I am happy the government has acted on it.

During this crisis, we must take care of Ontario’s most vulnerable children. Many students depend on school breakfast and lunch programs, I hope a future announcement will announce support for these students. I will continue to raise this in my meetings with government members.

At the next opportunity, I will encourage the government to continue to do what’s needed to support our economy, and in particular to help small and medium-sized businesses – especially those who operate close to the margins.

Ontario owes a deep debt of gratitude to our own healthcare workers and their families. I hope the government will do everything they can to support our healthcare workers as this crisis continues.

I know this is a stressful time for Ontarians. We must do everything we can to be responsible. That includes washing our hands, sneezing into our elbows, not visiting our elderly family, and buying a prudent but not excessive amount of groceries and supplies.
