Councillor Castro Liu - Community Update - Vaccination Clinics
Dear Ward 3 Residents,
I understand that many of you are frustrated and concerned over booking a booster shot. I have summarized some up to date information from the York Region website for your reference:
At this time, York Region is only providing booster doses for individuals 50 years of age and older at least three months (84 days) after receipt of a second dose.
Individuals 18 to 49 years of age eligible to receive a third dose are encouraged to visit Pharmacies, select Primary Care Offices and the Provincial Booking System to book an appointment. Appointments can be booked any location and are not limited to York Region locations only.

Find your closest pharmacy offering the COVID-19 Vaccine
Most pharmacies book appointments ahead of time and some allow walk-ins. Check with the pharmacy before you go.
Vaccine Available:
- Pfizer — 12 years of age and older
- Moderna — 25 years of age and older
- Paediatric Pfizer — 5 to 11 years of age
Wait List
York Region Public Health offers a waitlist for those that would like to receive a COVID-19 vaccine but are not able to book an appointment. The waitlist provides additional availability for those able and available to come to a public health clinic on short notice. The waitlist can be used for first, second or third/booster doses for any eligible age groups
The waitlist for each clinic is established for that day only. A new waitlist will be created for each day the clinic operates. You will need to sign up for the waitlist each day you would like to enroll as the list is erased at the end of each day. Placing your name on the waitlist does not guarantee that you will receive an appointment. You will only be called if an appointment is available.
Those who wish to enroll on the waitlist must be available between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. that day AND able to visit the clinic within 15 minutes of being called. Waitlist individuals may also be called earlier in the day to fill no-show appointments. You will be contacted by 7:30 p.m. that day if a vaccine dose is available.
