The 2023 4th Pan American KungFu Championships
The 2023 4th Pan American KungFu Championships marks the first time that the event has been hosted in the City of Markham.
Supported by the City and Province, the event welcomes over 800 athletes along with 200 officials and volunteers from across the globe. In 3 full days of athletic competition, participants will showcase their skills and expertise in tradition, contemporary and combative Chinese martial arts across 5 fields of play.
This is the largest gathering of its kind in Canada since the 2009 10th World Wushu Championships held in Toronto.
Unique medals were specifically designed to commemorate the event. Embeded with elements of WATER which symbolizes adaptability and flexibility in Wushu. A DRAGON is symbolic of strength, wisdom and fighting spirit. The colours of the Olympic rings were encompassed to represent the future of the sport along with the common national flag colours of participating countries.

WUSHUCANADA
Established in 1993, WushuCanada currently consists of 4 provincial/territorial members represented in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec.
Recognized by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) and the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), WushuCanada is the National Sports Organization (NO) which governs the sport of wushu in Canada for participation in official international games.
WushuCanada works in unison with its member provinces to attain recognition and support from all levels of Canadian Government. Currently, WushuOntario is a recognized Provincial Sports Organization supported by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. In addition, WushuAlberta (Wushu Alberta Society) and WushuBC (Canada West Wushu Association) have now both attained recognition through their respective provincial governments.
The mission of WushuCanada is to promote and foster the development and practice of wushu martial arts and to expand a system of support for our athletes across the country; to promote participation, operations, development and excellence.
