Help give our neighbourhood a Spring Clean-up! – A Great Volunteer Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to get to know your neighbours and beautify the community at the same time.
In support of the Richmond Hill Clean Up, Green Up Weeks, we are looking for volunteers to collect litter from around your neighbourhood. We will supply garbage bags; recycling bags and gloves and the Town will pick up all the waste collected.
Your highly visible work not only will boost neighbourhood pride, but it is also a sign of a community that cares.
April 26 (Sat) 2pm-4pm: Bayview Hill Community
April 27 (Sun) 2pm-4pm: Richmond Green Community
May 3 (Sat) 2pm-4pm: Bayview Secondary School area
*Volunteer hours will be provided for all students who participate.

Senior Tax Grant
Richmond Hill's Seniors Tax Assistance Grant Program gives tax grants to residents who meet the following requirements:
·are 65 years of age or older
·receive a Federal Guaranteed Income Supplement
·have owned their home in Richmond Hill for at least one year
·use their home as their main residence
·limit to one grant per household per year.

Lake Wilcox Parking Permit
Pay parking at Lake Wilcox Park is in effect April 1 – September 30. Free parking permits are available for Richmond Hill residents.
Free parking permits are available for Richmond Hill residents for the current year (residents must obtain a new free permit annually). These permits are linked to a license plate number and residents can obtain one permit per household. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.

·a household requiring more than one free permit. Note, a valid reason for requiring more than one permit is required (i.e., a second permit will be issued for accessibility reasons, for Oak Ridges Community Centre users or if there are tenant/property owner arrangements at a particular address)
·previously registered a vehicle plate and need assistance.
Steps to obtain your parking permit:

3. Create an account or enter your existing login information
4. Print your parking permit to keep in your vehicle

Opportunity for Female High School Students - Apply for Project Blaze 2025!
Do you know a female-identifying high school student in Richmond Hill who is a trailblazer? Are they curious about a career in fire services? Project Blaze 2025 is their chance to explore this exciting field!
Richmond Hill Fire Department Project Blaze offers a three-day immersive experience (May 23–25, 2025) where participants engage with all aspects of fire services, including:
·Fire suppression (firefighting, search/rescue, ladder operations)
·911 dispatch communications
·Fire inspections and investigations
·Public education
·Administration and mechanical roles
This program aims to build awareness of diverse career paths and equip students with practical skills and teamwork strategies. Eligible applicants must:
·identify as female and be in grades 9 – 12
·attend a Richmond Hill high school or reside in Richmond Hill while enrolled in a neighbouring municipality’s school
·provide CSA-certified safety footwear (other gear supplied).

Dumping Waste on public property is illegal and subject to fines!
It is harmful to the environment and can pose a risk to public safety. It is unsightly and costly for the City to clean up.

Be a Responsible Pet Owner
Pet owners in Richmond Hill must follow our local rules and regulations to ensure pets are properly cared for, loved and a welcome part of the community. Follow local by-laws to be a responsible owner, a good neighbour and to show proper care for your pet.
Pet owners who fail to comply with by-law regulations may be ticketed and fined.
As a pet owner in Richmond Hill, you must:
·License your dog every year and make sure they always wear a collar with the license attached
·Stoop and Scoop - pick up any mess made by your pet and place it in the correct waste container
·Keep your pet on a leash whenever you're in a public area, unless you are at an official off leash dog area.
