City of Toronto
· City of Toronto to resume yard waste collection for a period of two weeks, beginning April 6 to April 17
· To ensure health and safety, residents should only use yard waste bags, not open-top containers and residents are asked to put their yard waste out before 7 a.m. on their regularly scheduled garbage/yard waste collection day
· The City of Toronto announced that it is experiencing a financial pressure estimated at $65 million a week. Revenues are decreased due to closures, decreased demands, and property tax and utility payment deferrals, and increased costs are stemming from COVID-19 related needs like additional PPE, cleaning, shelter space and overtime
· The City is requesting relief funding from the federal and provincial governments to offset the cumulative financial impact
· Spring recreation, arts and museum programs are being cancelled and 5400 recreational workers will not be hired
· Ontario government released modeling projections that stated there would have been approx. 100,000 deaths over the course of the COVID-19 outbreak without public health measures
· The Ontario government indicated that if all measures and all available tools are implemented, the number may be reduced to the range of 3000-15,000 deaths
· Given the numbers provided by the Provincial government model – Toronto could experience 600-3000 deaths by the end of the pandemic
· The By-law announced yesterday that prohibits anyone who is not from the same household from being within 2 metres from one another in a park or public space will be fined $1000
Province of Ontario
· Ontario has launched a new user-friendly online portal for the public to easily access their COVID-19 lab test results https://covid19results.ehealthontario.ca:4443/agree
· Ontario government is reducing the list of businesses classified as essential services and ordering more workplaces to close
· The government is ordering all businesses not covered by the updated Emergency Order to close effective as of Saturday April 4, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. This closure will be in effect for at least 14 days

· The updated list restricts specified businesses (stores that sell hardware products, vehicle parts and supplies, pet and animal supplies, office supplies and computer products and repairs and safety supplies) to provide services by alternate methods such as curb side pick up and delivery except in exceptional circumstances - which includes stores that sell hardware products, vehicle parts and supplies, pet and animal supplies, office supplies and computer products and repairs and safety supplies
· Only critical construction projects will continue, including industrial projects such as refineries and petrochemical plants and infrastructure projects such as new hospitals, roads and bridges
· New starts in residential projects will stop, while residential construction that is near completion will continue
Government of Canada
· Canada has signed an agreement with Amazon Canada for the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment
· The federal government is funding $100 million to help meet the urgent food needs of vulnerable Canadians, including those in Indigenous communities. This money will go to organizations that help feed Canadians.
· Canada will work closely with the United States to ensure trade continues and the economy bounces back.
· Canada is working to ensure that medical supplies coming from the U.S. continue to be imported.
