A.    OVERALL PROJECTION

 

This is the twentieth year of the Lower “8” Cycle of the world. Based on Yi-Jing, while the period between 1984 and 2043 (totaling 60 years) is “Fire-Wind Caldron”, the year 2024is“Thunder-Fire Abundance”.

 

Yi-Jing Analysis

 

The Yi-Jing “Thunder-Fire Abundance” trigram is a trigram of luck and wealth. The world economy would show signs of improvement. Nevertheless, there would still be wars. It would also be a hot year with many fire issues. Among countries, controversies and fighting for superiority would continue.

 

Life Chart Analysis

 

The four columns of this year are “Wooden Dragon” year, “Fire Tiger” month, “Earth Dog” day and “Metal Monkey” hour.  While the year and day are opposite, the month and hour are also opposite. Strangely, the year and hour quietly connect. The month and day also quietly connect. That hints of many unstable relationships among countries. Many promises would be made and then broken. Favorable elements are “fire, earth and wood”. Unfavorable elements are “metal and water”. Real Estate, pharmaceutical, education, high tech, textile and forestry would do well. Logistics, travel, metals, automobile and insurance sectors may need to struggle a bit. Artificial Intelligence and Big Data would lead the world’s developments.

 

Flying-Star Analysis

 

The controlling Star of this year is “3-Blue” Arguments. This is a year of controversy and arguments. However, the governing trigram is “Thunder-Fire Abundance”. Most countries will go through a stage of economic recovery. Most conflicts from the western countries would be against China.

 

Generally speaking, unfavorable countries are those in the South, West and South-East, such as Southeast Asia, India, Africa, Australia, USA, South America, Western Europe, etc. Favorable ones are those in the central region, East, North-East, North, North-West and South-West, such as China, Eastern Europe, North Europe, Korea, Japan, Canada, etc. China will begin its 40-year high life cycle.

 

The following would outline an analysis of orientations, businesses, politics, economies, climate and health, totaling 6 important factors affecting all of us.

 

 

B.    LOCATIONS and ORIENTATIONS

 

Central (positive)

 

The controlling force is the central “Thunder-Fire Abundance” trigram. Countries in this space would tend to prosper economically. China will march out of last three years mini recession. Western countries headed by USA would still pick on China.

 

Middle East countries continue to be volatile. Troubles between Israel and Palestine would be the highlight.

 

East (positive)

 

The “1-White” Romance Star will land in the East. It is also the “Speculative Money” center. Most eastern countries would do well, such as China’s eastern provinces and Japan. However, there would be many water issues in those regions.

 

South-East (negative)

 

This is the “2-Black” Illness Center.  There would be new forms of sickness. This region includes Southeast Asia, the Caribbeans and Florida in USA, etc. However, Real Estate may appreciate and do well in such areas.

 

South (very negative)

 

This is the “7-Red” Fighting Star, together with the “Preponderance of Wind” trigram and “Triple Conflict” force. Both politics and economy may incur much instability. There would be plenty of wind and water problems. Climate in such regions would be very unstable. These include Mexico, South America, India, Africa, etc. Robbery and murders would be serious.

 

South-West (very positive)

 

This is the “9-Violet" Joy and Wealth Center.  The trigram is “Possession in Abundance”. On the positive side, countries in South-West regions such as Spain, Portugal, France, USA’s South California, Canada’s BC and China’s Sichuan would do very well economically. On the negative, these regions also suffer a lot of heat and even forest fires.

 

West (very negative)

 

This is the “5-Yellow” destructive center. Western countries, such as the USA and UK, would see their economies retreat. There would be plenty of natural and man-made disasters. Earthquakes and drought would be likely.

 

North-West (very positive)

 

This is the "4-Green" Learning Center. This represents learning, research work and technical developments. Hence Northern European countries tend to do well. There may be plenty of wind and water storms in the North-West regions of USA and Canada.

 

North (negative)

 

This is the “8-White” Retreated Money Center. Economies in Northern countries would be volatile. However, real estate market may improve, especially in Canada. Russia, on the other hand, may suffer from the after-effects of the war.

 

North-East (very positive)

 

This is the "6-White” Travel Center. The travel industry may prosper in Northeast countries, such as Korea, Japan and Northeast parts of China, USA and Canada. However, these areas may suffer from high temperatures and chances of thunder and fire storms.

 

 

C.    ANALYSIS of BUSINESSES

 

Business involving “Fire, Wood, Earth” would do well, but not “Metal, Water”.  With the“3-Blue” argument star as the governing power this year, it would benefit sectors of high tech, research, forestry, agriculture, etc.

 

Let us examine various businesses.

 

Real Estate

 

Real Estate would show improvements. Favorable regions are in the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, West and North. Unfavorable regions are the Central, South, Northwest and East.

 

China, although under western pressure over the past few years, would see a revival of economy. Real estate would also stabilize, especially Shanghai, Beijing and Southern China.

 

In the USA, regions such as New York, Boston, California would be stable. Silicon Valley, Seattle, Texas and Florida would do particularly well.

 

Canada’s economy would be quite unstable. Debts and deficits would continue to haunt the country. However, Real Estate market would heat up and save the country. Vancouver would edge up. Toronto would do very well. Within the Greater Toronto Area, regions such as Richmond Hill, Markham, Vaughan, etc.  would do well. Developments would grow further north, such as Aurora, Newmarket, East Gwillimbury and Keswick. Southwest Ontario such as Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Waterloo, would prosper.

 

        Southeast Asia, including Hong Kong, real estate would continue to be unstable.

 

Energy

 

Oil and gas prices would remain high. More car manufacturers would get into the electric car sector. This would make EV cars more affordable worldwide. As technology moves forwards, more energy sources will be discovered.

 

Electronics

 

The Hi-Tech sector would continue to go through major changes, grossly affecting the use of Manpower. More developments would be AI and Robotics. Data securities would be an important item in most business sectors. More and more crimes would be electronics-based. Competition among smart phones, internet and market shares may actually benefit the consumers.

 

Medical

 

There would be many new drugs, especially targeting contagious illnesses. Canada’s openness to drugs such as marijuana may backfire. Many such shops may not survive.

 

Food

 

Food and groceries would continue to feed world inflations. The world would gradually lack consumable water. Food sources may also become short-supplied.

 

Metals

 

There would be many industrial accidents in metal mines. Demand for metals such as lithium would become explosive.

 

Automobiles

 

Car sales would continue to be affected by the supply chain issue. Although EV cars may continue to lead all sales, hidden problems may begin to surface, especially safety.

 

Travel

 

The travel sector may become red-hot competitive. However, cruise ships may lead the consumer preference.

 

Textile

 

The clothing sector would improve a great deal. There would be new styles and imaginations in fashion.

 

Banking and Financial

 

The stock market would still be super volatile. More banks may collapse, especially in the USA.  Gold and precious metals would continue their upward trend.

The governing star is "3-Blue” arguments, plus the controlling and central trigram "Thunder-Fire Abundance". The world would continue its endless arguments and controversy. However, the improvement of economics should play a role in calming wars.

 

        Canada

 

Canada is into a year of “8-White” Receding Wealth sign and “Mountain-Earth Splitting” trigram. There would be arguments among all levels of government, especially to do with funding. USA would continue to influence Canada’s political directions.

 

USA

 

USA is into a year of "5-Yellow" Trouble sign and “Earth” trigram. Natural and manmade disasters may hit a record. Earthquakes, droughts and storms would be plentiful. National debts are completely out of control. Elections would be wild. Regardless of who wins, the country would be hard to manage.

 

China

 

China is in the “3-Blue” Argument center and “Thunder-Fire Abundance” trigram. More and more countries would befriend China. However, the 5-eye union (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) would try everything to undermine China.

 

Hong Kong

 

Hong Kong is at the "2-Black" Illness Center.  Its trigram is “Earth-Mountain Humility”. There would be off and on contagious illnesses. However, its politics would be very stable. Its Real Estate market would also show signs of revival.

 

Taiwan

 

Taiwan is at the "2-Black" Illness Center, but with the “Earth-Mountain Humility” trigram. Its politics would become more practical and dialogue with mainland China would improve.

 

Japan

 

Japan is also at the "1-White" Romance and Speculative Money center. Its politics would be more stable. Its governments would be more prudent in their expenses.

 

South Korea

 

Korea is at the “6-White” Travel center. Both politics and people’s lives would be stable and peaceful. Its travel industry should do well.

 

North Korea

 

North Korea is also at the “6-White” Travel center. There would not be much change to its political structure. However, its relations would further improve with South Korea and may be more receptive to other countries.

 

OtherSouthern Countries

 

Countries such as South America, India, Africa and Australia would suffer from the “7-Red” Fighting star. Together with the “Preponderance of Wind” trigram, there could be many wind and water issues. Political situations may become quite unstable. Countries in South America may be infested with robbery and government corruption.

 

Western European Countries

 

Western Europe would be into the “5-Yellow” Trouble sign. There would be arguments and controversy about government policies. There would be protests every here and there.

 

Eastern European Countries

 

Eastern European countries suffer from the “3-Blue” Argument sign but “Thunder-Fire Abundance” trigram. While their economy would improve, problems between countries may grow.

 

Middle East

 

Most Middle East countries have the “3-Blue” Argument sign with the “Thunder-Fire Abundance” trigram. Although its economy would improve but political instability may become more significant.

 

Russia

 

Russia is at the “8-White” Receding Wealth sign, together with the trigram of “Mountain-Earth Split”. Its political power would be much weakened. There would be a lot to handle to rebuild its economy.

 

 

E.    ANALYSIS of WORLD ECONOMY

 

The governing signs “3-Blue Argument" Star and "Thunder-Fire Abundance" trigram imply the world economy would slowly come out of recession. However, trade issues and copyright issues among countries may magnify.

 

CHINA would see her economy go up significantly, after at least 3 years of suppression by US led countries. Trade restrictions would be loosened. The “BRICS” system would continue to pick up steam, especially among Third World countries.

 

Southeast Asia is in the “2-Black Illness” center. Natural disasters such as earthquakes, contagious illnesses, etc. may be an issue.  However, their economies would improve. Countries of interest include Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, etc.

 

JAPAN is in the “1-White Romance” and “Water-Lake Limitation” center. Its economy would improve, especially in the travel sector. Its AI development may lead up its economic developments.

 

KOREA is at the "6-White Travel" center. Its economy would do well, especially in the travel sector. There would also be big advancements in its high-tech sector.

 

INDIA is at the "7-Red Warring" and “triple conflict” center. Its economic situation would retreat and the gap between rich and poor would become even more extreme. More and more Indians would emigrate to North America and Europe.

 

USA is at the "5-Yellow Trouble" center. Its deficits and national debts have become more unmanageable. Natural disasters and military expenses would make the situation worse. More banks may become bankrupt.

 

CANADA is at the "8-White Receding Wealth" center. Deficits would continue to be a major national problem. Nevertheless, real estate may be the sector that can help to resurrect her finances.

 

RUSSIA is also at the "8-White Receding Wealth" center. The joint forces of the western countries would not let go. The BRICS system may become Russia’s revival for economy.

 

EUROPE is in the “5-Yellow Trouble” center. Its overall economic picture is very unstable. This would be compounded with people not willing to co-operate with the lawmakers, causing more and more demonstrations. Unemployment would escalate.

 

In all, the world’s economy would go through big swings, with the pendulum tilting and favoring the Eastern countries. The world life cycle of 9 will let us march to completely different world landscape.

Main directions would be a continuation of last year.

 

1. Fiscal deficits would continue to be a concern for all levels of governments

2. Inflation rate would stay around 3%

3. Interest rates will stay high around 5%

4. Canadian $ would continue to be much lowerthan the US dollar

5. TSX would continue to see huge fluctuations

6. Centralization of power among corporations would intensify and cost cuttings by consolidating and eliminations of departments and staff would continue

7. Public sector remains the major inflation source, while the private sector continues to deflate, except the food sector

8. Economic growthwould be around 2%

9. Unemployment rate would stay around 6-7%

10. Economy would be stable due to large immigrations.

 

F.     ANALYSIS of WORLD CLIMATES

 

This year's governing trigram is "Thunder-Fire Abundance".

The world climate would continue to be hot.  There would be plenty of thunderstorms, fires, earthquakes, droughts and flooding – worldwide.  Central regions would suffer more from thunderstorms and fires. They are represented by Middle East and China’s Sichuan, Central Pacific Ocean, etc.  Southeast regions experience more earthquakes. Southern areas are vulnerable to windstorms and flooding. Southwest areas are prone to fires, especially South Pacific countries. Western regions such as California and British Columbia may experience some earthquakes. Northwest areas may see plenty of wind and water. Northern countries may experience more drought. Midwest in USA would continue to thunderstorms and many tornadoes.

 

G.    ANALYSIS of WORLD HEALTH

 

The most common health issues this year would be liver, gallbladder, eyes and immune system disorder. Many illnesses may be traced back to the Southeast regions of countries.
