安大略省府

• 在COVID-19大流行期間,安大略省通過以下措施保障全省重要的工作場所的安全:
O 重新部署30多名就業標準官員,以幫助企業瞭解並遵守健康與安全要求
O 將安大略省健康與安全呼叫中心的電話線路從25條增加到50條
O 根據《就業標準法》為因COVID-19而需要自我隔離或照顧親人的工人提供在工作受保障下的假期
O 邀請最近退休的視察員返回其職位
O 為市民提供遵守各項規定的協助並執行《緊急措施和民防法》下發佈的各項緊急法令
加拿大聯邦政府
• 截至本週一,367萬個加拿大人已經申請了加拿大緊急救助補貼(CERB)或其就業保險(EI)被轉移至CERB。
• 加拿大緊急工資補貼將會被調整。新的規例將會變得更加靈活,並不限制於收入已減少30%的企業。
O 企業可以使用2020年1月和2020年2月的收入作為比較來衡量其收入下降的程度,這將有助於新創立的和正在擴張的公司
O 另一項擬案將計劃調整3月份所需下降的收入由30%降至15%
• 為了鼓勵企業雇用年輕人,政府正在調整「加拿大暑期工作」計劃,支付通過該計劃雇用的員工的工資的100%。

Over the past month, I have called for donations for our front line workers. On Monday, I had the pleasure of witnessing the donation of 1000 bags from Foody Mart Warden to the Agincourt Community Services Association Food Bank. These bags will help with food distribution for those who are in need. I want to thank Foody Mart Warden and all other community partners for responding to calls for help during this time. Click here

City of Toronto
• Anyone using a closed parks amenities such as fitness equipment, playgrounds and off-leash dog parks could be fined up to $1000.
• Anyone not keeping physical distance with others in a park could get a $1000 ticket.
• Starting today,all GO train lines will operate on a reduced schedule. GO bus service will also be adjusted. Revised GO schedules are available here: https://www.gotransit.com/en/trip-planning/seeschedules/full-schedules.
Government of Ontario
• Ontario is extending construction hours for essential construction projects, like critical projects in the health care sector, to 24 hours a day – work on new hospital builds, expansions, and COVID-19 assessment centres will be able to continue 24 hours a day in order to accelerate the construction.
• Ontario will temporarily suspend local noise bylaws on these essential construction activities beginning April 7, 2020 – extending hours will also give worksite managers more flexibility to stagger shifts, limit the number of people in one place, and take reasonable precautions to keep workers safe and healthy under the recent guidelines for construction sites
• Ontario is making essential workplaces across the province safe during COVID-19 pandemic by:
O Redeploying more than 30 employment standards officers to help businesses understand and comply with health and safety requirements;
O Doubling the capacity of Ontario’s Health and Safety Call Centre from 25 to 50 phone lines;
O Providing job-protected leave under the Employment Standards Act for workers who need to self-isolate or care for a loved one due to COVID-19;
O Issuing a call to recently-retired inspectors who may be able and willing to return to their positions; and,
O Providing compliance assistance and enforcing the emergency orders issued under the Emergency Measures and Civil Protection Act.
Government of Canada
• As of Monday, 3.67 million Canadians have applied for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) or have had their Employment Insurance claims transferred over to CERB.
• The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy is being adjusted. Instead of businesses requiring a 30% drop in revenue, more flexible rules are being put in place.
O Businesses can use January and February 2020 as comparison months to measure their revenue drop which should help new or scaled-up businesses
O Another proposed adjustment reduces the required revenue drop of 30% for the month of March to 15%
• In an attempt to encourage companies to hire young people, the government is adjusting the Canada Summer Jobs program to cover 100% of the wages for those hired through this program.
• 500,000 3M facemasks have arrived and are being distributed where they are needed.
• Canadians are beginning to receive the Canada Emergency Response Benefit through direct deposit.
