父親節不僅是為感恩父親，也是為紀念所有那些在我們生命中扮演父親角色的人― 兄長、繼父、祖父、外祖父、叔伯、朋友或「大哥」而慶祝的節日。
慶祝父親節，可以追溯到1908年。一個世紀以來，我們向父親致敬，感謝父親教誨我們做人的真諦，賦予我們智慧和無條件的關愛與支持，父親的影響塑造了我們的生命。
在北美，我們在6月的第三個星期日慶祝父親節。在這個非常特別的日子，我們無限珍惜父親對我們來說意味著什麼，並銘記父親為我們所付出的一切。
作為五個孩子的父親、四個孩子的岳父以及一個外孫女的外祖父，我珍視我與我每個孩子以及現在的外孫女之間的特殊關係。和他們每個人的關係對我來說都至關重要。
雖然我的父親已離我而去，但他將永遠活在我的腦海裡。
我明白，做父親意味著要提升認知，態度謙卑，不要錯過任何一個讓你的孩子知道你為他感到驕傲的機會。
這原本應該是闔家慶祝的日子，然而不幸的是新冠疫情讓大家無法開展正常活動。
在此艱難時期，我們必須照顧彼此的精神、情感和精神福祉。我鼓勵你們通過網絡或電話與親人聯繫。

June 21, 2020 – Father’s Day
Father’s Day is a day to honour not only our fathers, but all the men who have been a father-figure in our lives – brothers, stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles, friends or ‘Big Brothers’.
The celebration of Father’s Day dates back to 1908. Over the last century, we have paid tribute to fathers and thanked them for their guidance, wisdom, unconditional love and support that have helped shape our lives.
In North America, we celebrate Father’s Day on the third Sunday in June. It is a very special time to cherish all that our fathers mean to us and remember what they have brought to our lives.
As the father of five and father-in-law of four, and grandfather to a granddaughter, I know the special relationship I have with each of my children and, now, my grandchild. Each of these relationships is extremely important to me.
Although my Father is no longer with us, he will remain always in my thoughts.
I have learned that to be a father means to live inspired, possess humility and never miss an opportunity to tell your child you are proud of them.
This is normally an opportunity for us to gather with our loved ones to celebrate this occasion. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has made normal activities impossible.
During these difficult times we must look after the spiritual, emotional and mental well-being of each other. I encourage you to connect with loved ones online or by phone.
