THE CONSTITUENCY YOUTH COUNCIL INVITATION TO YOUNG CANADIANS TO APPLY
Leona Alleslev, Member of Parliament for the riding of Aurora—Oak Ridges—Richmond Hill invites youth from the riding between the ages of 14 - 25 to apply to the 2017/2018 Constituency Youth Council (CYC).
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his caucus have focused on engaging youth and ensuring that their voices are heard.
MP Alleslev is dedicated to ensuring our local youth have opportunities to build their skills and be leaders in our community. Following the success of last year’s Constituency Youth Council, MP Leona Alleslev is thrilled to launch the 2017/2018 CYC.
This council consists of youth from her riding and will meet once every 1 to 2 months to discuss what matters most to them. During this time, community projects will be organized to make a positive impact and strengthen ties in Aurora—Oak Ridges— Richmond Hill.
This is a nonpartisan council that will focus on bringing a diverse set of perspectives to the conversation. Last year, members of the CYC provided a youth perspective on national issues such as youth employment, access to education, building stronger communities, international relations, innovation and much more. The Member of Parliament will have the opportunity to hear fresh new perspectives and ideas from youth, and participants will be able to better understand the federal political process and gain valuable leadership experience.
