Leona Alleslev, Member of Parliament hosts Tax Fairness Town Hall
The Government of Canada is working to create a healthy and growing economy in which businesses generate well-paying jobs, and where the middle class, and those working hard to join it, have confidence that they can succeed. As part of this work, the Government is taking action to improve the fairness of Canada's tax system by amending existing rules to ensure that Canadians pay their fair share of taxes and that people in similar circumstances pay similar amounts of tax.
Leona Alleslev, Member of Parliament for Aurora—Oak Ridges—Richmond Hill, invited residents to attend a Tax Fairness Town Hall to discuss the government’s proposed tax changes and consult with local small business owners, professionals, and experts on how to achieve an improved tax system.
Aurora—Oak Ridges—Richmond Hill residents had the opportunity to learn more about the government’s proposed tax planning strategies, and provide input on how the government can achieve tax fairness across Canada and in our community. All constituent feedback will be compiled in a report and sent to the Minister of Finance by MP Alleslev before consultations end on October 2, 2017.
