PRIME MINISTER TO GRACE CHINESE CULTURAL CENTRE’S MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL CELEBRATION WITH A HISTORIC VISIT
The Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto is honored to announce the distinguished visit of the Prime Minister to our Centre in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 29, 2023.
The Prime Minister’s visit signifies a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese community and reflects our commitment to promoting cultural exchange and harmony. The Mid-Autumn or the Moon Festival is one of the major Chinese festivals that celebrates family, unity, and bountiful harvests.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will tour the Centre and visit the site of our future Asian Garden. The Prime Minister will then celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival by distributing moon cakes to our Centre’s Active Living Centre for Seniors (ALCS). The Centre's, community partners, patrons, and visitors will have an opportunity to interact with our nation’s leader, further strengthening the bonds of unity and understanding.
“We are deeply honored to welcome the Prime Minister to our Centre for the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration,” said Angela Chan, President of the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto. “This visit not only acknowledges the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinese culture but also signifies the Prime Minister’s recognition of the contributions of the Chinese Canadian community to our country.”
