Featuring a troupe of more than 70 musicians, singers, and dancers, this eclectic and exotic extravaganza offers the opportunity to discover the exquisite sounds of Chinese culture on its alluring, authentic instruments.
From Peking Opera to modern pop, from traditional folk songs to classical hits – the rich music will be given beautiful voice on Pipas, Guzhengs, Lion Drums, and the numerous fascinating instruments that comprise the traditional Chinese orchestra. Featuring a performance by Gong Linna
Gong Linna is the most venturing Chinese singer the world has seen in recent years. Her unique vocal style, though steeped in Chinese tradition, defies neat categorization and wins her huge popularity in China and abroad. Beyond any genre borders, Gong Linna has incorporated various Chinese singing techniques from Folk traditions and Chinese opera styles into a modern and global sound, establishing herself as the leading voice of Chinese New Art Music. Gong Linna has been a guest on many prestigious stages worldwide and has been working with China’s most respected orchestras. But mainly her works that combine chamber music and pop, presented in sophisticated settings, inspire the music scene in China. Besides her own career as singer and driven from the dream to pass along China’s musical heritage to the next generations, Gong Linna dedicated herself to research and develop teaching concepts and materials for Chinese traditional vocal techniques.

About China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra
China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra is a national-level orchestra established in 1953 as one of the five branch troupes of China Broadcasting Performing-arts Troupe. The Orchestra has supreme artistic and management skills as well as a long history. The orchestra has gained outstanding achievements and great reputation both in China and overseas.
The performing team of the orchestra has nearly 100 members. For more than 50 years, with the constant efforts of Mr. Peng Xiuwen, the famous Chinese conductor and composer, a basic structure for folk orchestra based on the combination of string instruments, plucked instruments, wind instruments and percussion instruments has been formed, contributing a lot of the development of folk orchestra. The current structure of China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra has been referred to or adopted by many professional folk orchestras both in China and overseas.
For more than 50 years, China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra has been providing the audiences with inspirations and enjoyment through various art practices and performances. Many titles have become representative works.
