COVID-19 Updates – April 26 2020
My office has a number of masks to offer for free to those in need upon request. Please note that due to the limited number of masks, requests are first-come, first-serve. Masks will be packaged in bundles of 10 and are limited to 1 bundle per household for Ward 22 constituents only. To request face masks, please click here. If you have already signed up, please do not fill in another form.
I will be hosting a teleconference to help Ward 22’s schoolchildren and parents cope with staying at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. I will be joined by our trustees, educators and psychologists who will offer advice on home learning and maintaining mental and physical well-being. The teleconference will be held on May 1st, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. If you would like to join this teleconference, please sign up here.
City of Toronto
·The City of Toronto continues to remind residents of the importance of reducing all contact with much as possible and staying home, except for essential outings, to help stop the community spread of COVID-19.
Government of Ontario
·All publicly-funded schools will remain closed until at least May 31, 2020.
·Should schools be permitted to reopen, school employees will have access as of May 29, 2020
·At the present time, Private schools, First Nations schools, licensed child care centres and EarlyON programs will remain closed until May 6, 2020 under emergency orders which only allow closures to be extended for 14 days at a time.
