有關以多倫多水務部名義發出的詐騙信
有居民收到聲稱由「多倫多水務部」寄出的信件。信里內容指出市政府將在2020年秋季將對收件人的物業作鉛管更換工程,而水電費將大幅增(如$38,000的一半)。此類信件皆屬欺詐,收到的話請向多倫多警察局非緊急熱線416-808-2222報告。如您有關於多倫多水務的問題,您可以致電416 392 1374與我聯絡。

多倫多市政府
• 市政府將為本年度的園藝季節開放社區和分配花園。
• 市政府將分階段開放其81個社區花園和12個配給園地。 社區花園將在本週起逐步開放,而配給園地將於5月11日一周起開始開放。

Our Food Banks Need Your Help!
While things are very slowly returning to normal, there are those among us who are still suffering – they do not have enough to eat, many of them are children.
If you have the ability, I ask you to please donate to the food banks in Scarborough Agincourt. The food banks are looking for non-perishable foods and personal hygiene products.

Toronto Water warns of fraudulent City of Toronto letter to residents
A letter from the City’s “Department of Water” is being delivered to residents telling them the City will be conducting lead pipe replacement to their property in Fall 2020 that will result in a significant charge to the utility bill; e.g. half of $38,000. This is fraud and we are asking anyone who receives this letter to report it to the Toronto Police Service non-emergency line at 416-808-2222. City of Toronto
·The City of Toronto will begin opening its community and allotment gardens for the 2020 gardening season.
·The City will follow a phased approach in opening its 81 community gardens and 12 allotment gardens. Community gardens will begin to open this week on a location-by-location basis. Allotment gardens will begin to open during the week of May 11.
·The Province directed local Medical Officers of Health to provide advice and instructions that gardens must meet in order to operate safely. The guidelines are available at: https://www.toronto.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/8d67-COVID-19-Directions-Community-and-Allotment-Gardens.pdf.
·Site readiness activities have been underway, including supplying water service, as well as maintenance and spring cleanup work to get the gardens ready to open. Handwashing station equipment has been procured and will begin to be installed.
Government of Ontario
·The Provincial Government announced up to $12 million in emergency funding to immediately expand online and virtual mental health supports.
·The Provincial Government also launched a "Roadmap to Wellness: A Plan to build Ontario's Mental Health and Addictions System" which provides a clear path forward offering Ontarians easier access to standardized, high-quality care and supports in communities across the province
·Ontario has significantly increased testing and contact tracing capacity, allowing health experts to identify cases of COVID-19 and support efforts to stop the spread of the virus in the community, long-term care homes and other congregate settings.
·The Provincial Government has developed an integrated laboratory system which has established the province as a national leader in daily testing volumes per capita.
·Testing is being carried out in hospitals; long-term care homes; group homes; shelters; emergency child care centres; and, other congregate settings. To date, Ontario has conducted over 342,000 tests

·The Prime Minister encourages Canadians to stay home even as the weather gets warmer.
·The Prime Minister mentioned that there would be financial help for Canada’s airlines, but immediate priority is on helping workers and their families through CERB and wage subsidies.
